To promote clans and PoA and such, I'm considering hosting a tournament.

Now, paying wise, i will chip in 50 Canadian dollars to the winning team. Total prize money we have for the winner is 150 USD! However, if we have enough teams, and if people decide they want to pay (maybe 10 dollars a team) I will up the ante of the prize alot more (or if someone wants to donate to the pot). This is simply the start, there is nothing ready, it will be hosted either on the iRG website or even here on the forums. I haven't discussed this idea with anyone yet, so i bring it onto you, the community for discussion

General Format

-3v3 Matches, Baised on point system of 6 points (one per cap)

-If points are tied after 2 games (one on AA, one on CoA) Winner is decided on KILLS (Yes, kills, no third round, I'm going to try something new, it may not work, we could scrap it, but my money, my rules Razz

). Because of this, both sides will be required to take recordings and pictures (Only one person per team needs to record/take pictures, if lag is an issue)

-Servers will be provided by me if needed (as in iRG server, or I will rent one out from someone). If you have a Euro Team vs an American team, you may decide to play on either server, but it will be set up so you play the team twice so that lag is not an issue

-Will be round robin based, and then playoff elimination syled, with recording

-You do NOT need to be in a clan to participate in this event, any group of three is invited

Matches are as follows

Group A : 4-12 , 5-8 ,9-10 ,1-3
Group B : 16-14 ,6-11 ,13-15 , 7-2

Were going to do only 1 match this weekend, and we may do more depending on how time is set up. Rules will be posted tomorrow, and avalible servers as well. Please try to use your own server if you do have one, as you will have to book servers in advance for usage.

Questions that have been brought up :

Is the round robin going to be play everyone once? or do we play everyone twice?

What will be done most likely is that you will play everyone once. There will be a group A and Group B, and you will play everyone once from every group. If there is enough attendance, and people want it to be longer, we will set up a double round robin (play every team twice

Who will advance out of the Round Robin?

At the moment, it will be the top half of the teams out of each group. There may also be a consolation tourney, but that is undecided as of now

How many players can we have on a team?

You can have a maximum of 4 players per team, and three playing in the match. You cannot alternate during the match. Switched must be made before the first round of either side, and must be comfirmed with the other team. You cannot switch people out during the match, unless the other team agree's to the change.

However, I suggest not to have more then three people, if possible, to promote more teams to be created.

So are we paying to enter this?

At the moment, no, you are not paying to enter this tournament

How is the clan breakups working?

All clans will be in different groups if possible, it's not really much of a big deal to me, it would be nice to keep them seperate, but if say pC has three teams, i can't exactly fix that if we have two groups

When are we starting?

We will start when I feel we have enough teams. At the moment, we have 5, with possibly 3-5 more coming, as well as others that may join up. Because of that, I cannot release a date that we will start this tourny.

So this is definitly happening?

Yes! We will definitly be holding this event! Please, tell everyone you know, the more teams we have ready, the greater this event will be

How long will we take to do it all

I'm flirting between 1-4 days to report each match, leaning more towards 2-1ish days. While i'd like it to all be done on one days, how many matches can everyone play? It's not pratical to do it all at once, and it will be spread across a week or two most likely

What servers will be used

Dev's server will be provided if needed
pC server will be provided if needed
Wildfile server will be provided if all other servers die at once

Preferably find one you can use before asking us. As well, your going to have to book dates and times with the sever admins.

What about lag?

Since we will most likely play every team twice, the lag will balance out (One match on Euro server, one on American). If we don't, i will deal with the problem as it arises.

Can we have judges / spectators

If you require one, you can request someone. However, I do for the most part trust your integrity

What if I don't have a team?

These players below also don't have a team. If you would like to participate, please post your name on the forums. However, I'm putting extreme caution to this, because if i find a team with people who posted here not putting any effort to staying active and in communication, they wil be DQ'd

New (November 4) : Since we have 16 teams already, these are the rest of the people allowed to make a team. We will make an exception if these 6 can only make one team, but we are going to most likely allow only these 6 to make 2 more teams.

What are the Rules?

Some of the general rules are located at the top of this page, the specific rules as to times and reporting scores will be decided when we have enough participation to start

How is reporting times going to be done?

Most likely it's going to be that you will have 4 days to report a match

I decided to do a 3v3 because I don't belive there will be enough active teams ready for a 4v4 or 5v5. As well, because it is a 3v3, you are completly allowed to split up your clans in two's or three to participate!
